Since 1972, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts has led the way in advancing reproductive freedom for women and families in the Commonwealth.

Our mission is to develop and sustain a grassroots constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices, including preventing unintended pregnancy; bearing healthy children; and choosing safe, legal, accessible abortion.

NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is proud to be the political leader of the pro-choice movement here in the Commonwealth. We are a state affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Our political work consists of helping to make the pro-choice voice heard in elections and on Beacon Hill. With the right to choose under attack across the country, we need more elected officials here who will stand up and safeguard a woman’s ability to make personal, private decisions about pregnancy and childbearing. That’s why, each campaign season, we work to elect pro-choice candidates by providing tactical support to their campaigns and mobilizing the pro-choice majority to vote.

We also work to build an active base of supporters who advocate for pro-choice policies and block attempts to restrict choice on Beacon Hill and beyond. Together with our 20,000 members and activists across the state, we protect privacy and promote reproductive health. Click here to learn more about our political program.

In addition to our political work, we also run the Reproductive Health Equity and Access Program (RHEA), aimed at improving access to reproductive health services and information, especially for underserved communities like low-income women, teens, and communities of color. To this end, RHEA engages in research, policy analysis, and outreach, the results of which often inform our public education initiatives and political work.
