Bio: Nicki Nichols Gamble and Richard B. Gamble
Nicki Nichols Gamble Nicki Nichols Gamble was President and CEO of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) for 25 years. Since her retirement in 1999, she has been an advocate and volunteer for reproductive health organizations, including co-chairing the Power the Promise Steering Committee for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and serving as Chair of the Board of the Center for Reproductive Rights. During her 25-year tenure at the helm of PPLM, she chaired the National Executive Directors' Council (NEDC) and the Metropolitan Executive Directors’ Council. She served on the PPFA Board was a founding Board member of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She was also President of the National Abortion Federation and was Chair of the Board of IPAS, an international organization involved in abortion advocacy and services. Ms. Gamble is the recipient of several awards including the PPFA Ruth Green Award, the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Union Roger Baldwin Award, the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus Abigail Adams Award, and the Humanist of the Year Award from the Ethical Humanist Society. Richard B. Gamble For 12 years, Richard Gamble served as Executive Director, President, and Chair of the Board of Pathfinder International whose mission is to support family planning and other related activities in developing countries. He also served on the Board of the International Women’s Health Coalition, which works to influence policy change in family planning, reproductive health, and other activities relevant to the development and empowerment of women and girls. Mr. Gamble served on the Board of PPLM until his marriage to PPLM’s C.E.O., Nicki Nichols Gamble. He remained an active volunteer throughout her tenure. He also served the Board of Directors for the Learning Project Elementary School and the Boston Lyric Opera. Mr. Gamble was a sergeant in the United States Army from 1950-1952, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.
