On Tuesday, January 30, 2007, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts members and pro-choice activists gathered to learn more about the Federal Abortion Ban. Priscilla Smith, lead counsel for Gonzales v. Carhart, which challenged the Federal Abortion Ban at the Supreme Court last November, spoke at the event.

She gave insights about the cases that the Supreme Court heard last November on the ban, which could outlaw abortion procedures taking place as early as 12 weeks into a pregnancy. Smith also explained how the reconfiguration of the Supreme Court under President George W. Bush can affect Massachusetts.

This event was co-sponsored by Harvard Law School Democrats, Students for Choice, and Harvard Law School chapters of the American Constitution Society and ACLU.
