NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts Releases Voters’ Guide for Every District Announcing Complete List of Statewide and State Legislative Endorsements
NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts released its pro-choice Voters' Guide, which includes candidates' positions on choice from all 200 legislative races.
Boston, MA – Today, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts – the leading statewide advocate for privacy and a woman’s right to choose – released its 2010 Voters’ Guide along with its entire slate of endorsements going into the primary. The only resource for pro-choice voters living in every district in the Commonwealth, the guide lists endorsements in four statewide contests and 96 state legislative races while providing information about the candidates’ positions on choice in the remaining 104 legislative districts.
"NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is very proud to be the definitive resource for voters committed to protecting privacy and promoting reproductive choice,” said Andrea Miller, the organization’s Executive Director. "Voters deserve to know who’s pro-choice and who’s not so that they can cast a vote on primary day that reflects the values shared by the vast majority in the Commonwealth.”
Earlier this month, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts released its slate of 80 endorsed incumbents as well as support for Governor Deval Patrick, Lt. Governor Tim Murray, and Steve Grossman for Treasurer. Release of the Voters’ Guide coincides with additional endorsements in 14 open seats across the state. Those candidates include, but are not limited to: Gail Cariddi (D-North Adams), Katherine Clark (D-Melrose), Dave Dennis (D-Fall River), Karen Payne (D-Roslindale), Jesse Reich (D-Ayer), and Michael Walsh (D-Westwood).
Miller added, "NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is committed to doing all that we can to ensure that women in the Commonwealth are able to make personal, private decisions about pregnancy and parenting – and that includes protecting safe, legal abortion and improving access to birth control. One of the best things voters can do this year is to support candidates who do the same, which is why we are encouraging voters to elect a pro-choice candidate in their district.”
NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is the driving force behind the election of many pro-choice state legislative candidates. With 20,000 members across the Commonwealth, the organization provides direct assistance to candidates, mobilizes its pro-choice grassroots base in targeted districts, trains candidates and volunteers, and produces and distributes the onlystatewide pro-choice Voters’ Guide.
