On August 8, 2007, NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts attended the official rollout of the Health Care Disparities Commission Report, released by the State Commission to End Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities (learn more from The Boston Globe).

This report, announced by Representative Peter Koutoujian and Senator Dianne Wilkerson, calls for the establishment of a Center for the Elimination of Health Disparities at the state level. The Center will track differences in health status among racial and ethnic groups and to work to bridge those gaps.

We must address the racial and ethnic disparities in the health care system overall to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices. NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is excited to be working on legislation that supports the findings of the Commission.
